Am i going Crazy

since 8 wks after the birth of my 3rd child in 2005, i felt ill and had a day of feeling really dizzy and feeling slightly drunk,i also got really stiff fingers upon waking for a few days and was really painful it lasted for a few days and was very scarey as didnt know what was happening to me. My gp put me on vertigo tablets, however the vertigo disapeared. was fine for bout 8 mths, then got what i thiought was a twitch in my eye, was told it was a tic, 8 months later christmas 2006 when my baby was 18mths, i had another spell of not feeling well, lasting a couple of weeks and had another attack of vertigo during the night, the room was spinning and i felt i was going crazy, it subsided after that and i began to feel ok, however  the twitching  has increased. had another attack of vertigo in april 07. had an mri scan and a blood tests, came back normal., although still experiencing the twitching  started to  feel electric shocks in back of legs and arms and  burning thighs, also  a feeling of  motion sickness, that comes and gos from time to time as does the  feeling, spacey hazzy or fuzzy head, not with it mentally. the twitching has increased to my arms and legs over the last two years and is now more of a tremor  under the skin and i also get vibrations in my legs.  I  wake up with numb burning or either very stiff  fingers.  I had another mri scan in  april 08 alomg with a lumbar puncture and  evoked potentials and everything came back normal. i was just told not to worry.
i am at my wits end, and find it hard to function and even concentrate on anything else.  somedays i dont even drive as i dont feel  with it or alert enough and know that my responses are slower, have also noticed my writing is affected when im  feeling spacey/ hazzy.

This is effecting my eveyday life, i am 41 and have 3 kids.
is there anyone else out there who experiences the same feelings as me or am i going  crazy.

I would like to know that if it IS MS,  then could it be that it is too early to tell from a MRI scan. how accurate is it. please help.

Hi,

Thanks for writing in.
Since all your tests have been normal including MRI, neurological exam and blood tests and lumbar puncture, the possibility of MS is nil.
These symptoms could be due to undue stress, anxiety, lack of sleep, fibromyalgia.
I would suggest you to make sure you are physically active, eat nutritious food, OTC supplements will also help and drink plenty of water.
Hope this helps!

Trouble is with symptoms like these is it could be many things. MS can have these symptoms as well as many other neurological conditions or it could be nothing. A negative MRI does not mean it is not MS as some scanners can not pic up lesions as they are not powerful enough. What strength machine was your MRI on? Also some people can be diagnosed with MS with a negative MRI scan but they have to have other tests positive and a history that fits the criteria.

I have experienced many of the so called 'tics' you are having but not to your extent I don't think. (I am diagnosed with Clinically Isolated Syndrome). Stress and focusing on them makes them so much worse. Keep a diary of symptoms and push to be tested for all the serious stuff if only just to eliminate them. ( like Lyme and MS, devics etc..). However, MS can take a while to diagnosed as there is no one test. Lyme disease is also hard to diagnose so as long as you are having symptoms don't give up, even if they say its just nothing. It could be nothing, but better being safe than sorry. The sooner some of these neurological conditions are caught the better the chance of more successful treatment.(no cure for MS.There are medications to slow relapsing remitting down and delay relapses. Lyme is treatable when caught early).
