constant lightheadedness / slight nausea

Hi,

For the past few months, I have often experienced lightheadedness, usually accompanied by tension and pain in the neck area (right side predominantly). This has become very worrisome to me, since it conjures up fears of brain lesions and the like. More recently, there are some periods of nausea along with it. I have had blood tests done and nothing abnormal showed up. Just yesterday I had a CT-scan done of the neck and head areas. The results should be in within the next few days. I just wondered if anyone else has experienced this. Sometimes it'll all go away for a few days, and then come back again. I'm wondering if it is all stress-induced, especially since it is not constant. My doctor thinks it may be sinus-related and suggested the CT-scan to look for that. Any ideas or comments are very welcome, as this is driving me crazy. It has been going on since November, and, like I said, has only gone away for a few days at a time. Overall I'd say it's getting worse each time it reappears, which is why I'm not ruling out a brain abnormality, although I don't have any vomiting or headache - which I know are typical symptoms associated with tumors.

Thanks for any input,
three4rd

Hi,

You should also see your ENT specialist to rule out any cause of vertigo etc.

Has the CT report come in yet? Ask for a copy of the report.

Do keep us psoted on how you are doing.

Regards.

Hi,

Thanks for the replies. Regarding the questions that came up - my blood sugar and pressure are fine. This was all checked out in a pretty extensive panel of blood tests that were done back in December. I'll check back in after I get the CT-scan results. I've encountered several people on various medical forums who have also complained of chronic lightheadedness with seemingly no answers for why it is occurring.

Hi...I have had something similar. I get very lightheaded all the time and keep waiting to faint somewhere. I was diagnosed with a sinus infection a few months ago and took antibiotics for a month. I get a lot of burning sensations on my neck and arms and it goes away and comes back worse. The MRI s that they did all came back normal but I am not sure what is going on... It is frustrating isn't it?

Hi,

You could be having cervical spondylitis or sinusitis which could be causing your symptoms.

Relax and wait for the CT reports to come in.

Ask for a copy of the reports and discuss them in detail with your doctor.

Is your blood pressure in the normal range? Is your blood sugar ok?

Do keep us posted about the reports and about how you are doing.

Hope this helps.

Good luck.
