I can tell a few stories about that. For instance I have always associated in my mind, Parkinson's with tremors. However I happened to read a personal testimonial from a guy who took his self winding watch in to be repaired. The shop found nothing wrong with the watch and suggested to try it on the other wrist. The watch worked, but alas the watches owner had discovered his first sign of what was Parkinsons developing.

I have more recently succumbed to an even worse panic regarding ALS because of the twitches I have. I spent far too much time looking at the symptoms of ALS and reading case histories and had convinced myself that there was little point in making plans for the future.
I am now over that having seen the neuro. No Parkinson's no ALS, no PSP no MS just a bunch of trapped nerves and still unexplained twitching.
