dysfuntional autonomic system, dizzy spells
I have a friend who suffers from a dysfunctional autonomic system. She has disabling dizzy spells every day. The doctors in our area know very little to help her. She is unable to travel alone. Is there a doctor in the Tampa, Fl area that specializes in this problem? I know Clevelan Clinic has a facility near Naples, I believe. Could they help her?
Do you have the name of the doctor at Mayo Jax? I was diagnosed at the Mayo MN and need to see someone in FL. I saw someone in my area (same as the original poster) and was very disappointed.
As for the Cleveland clinic in south FL they do not have anyone who treats autonomic dysfunction as far as I was told just after the first part of April.

Your friend should check to see if USF School of Medicine in Tampa has any autonomic dysfunction neuros on its staff or can recommend one in your area. I am not sure if the Cleveland Clinic is still in Naples or, if it is, it has a neuro dept. any more. I looked it up when I was thinking of going for a neurology consult for my dysautonomia last year, and what I read online was that the neuro department was either no longer in Naples at the Cleveland Clinic or that the Cleveland Clinc was no longer associated with the hospital down in Naples it was in partnership with. Your best bet would be to call the one in Cleveland and see where the closest satellite is to you. I believe there is one on the east coast of Florida in the Hollywood or Palm Beach area-can't remember. There is a dysautonomia neurologist up at the Mayo in Jacksonville, but that is still about a 3-3 1/2 hour drive from Tampa, so unless someone drives your friend it's not an option.
