enlarged ventricles

by beth18, Oct 29, 2007 12:28PM
i am 22 weeks pregnant and on my 20 week scan, they noticed one of the babys brain ventricles was slightly enlarged to 12mm when shouldnt be above 10mm.
I was refered to a more advanced hospital where they carried out a further scan and noticed it was 11mm so still high but only boarder line.
I was told they would scan me again in 4 weeks to see if it has grown, stayed the same or got smaller they said 90% it was nothing and there was no other problems with scan.
I was offered an amnio which i did not have at this point as they said there were risks to this aswell.
What can the reason for this be? and should i be worried at this point? if it had grown in 4 weeks what would then happen?

Many thanks.
