foot vibration

Not sure where to post this. A few days ago I had a sensation of the floor vibrating under one foot. Since then I have realized it is my foot. It is felt in bloth feet, one at a time. Never both at the same time. I feel it when I am standing r walking. It is like an intermittent buzzing sensation. It comes in short bursts on after the other then stops. It will happen when walking and I will feel it with every third or fourth step. What could be the cause? I am taking no medications, only slightly over weight and am a 47 yr. old female in good health.

This discussion is related to faint vibration or 'humming' sensation.

Not sure what it is called exactly but I have experienced the same thing in my feet.  One foot then maybe the other the next day and in random areas of the foot too.

This is what I found to make the sensations go away:

1. Lay on my back on either floor or bed.

2. Try to get my toes to point towards my head (without bending knees)

3. Hold that position for at least 10 seconds.  The back of my legs burned  because they were not super flexible.  When my legs needed a break I would take a 10 second break and repeat.

I repeated this for 5-10 minutes and waited to see if the vibrations were gone or were temporarily away.  If they were gone I would wait a few hours and do it a few more times.  If they were not gone I would do it for another 5-10 minutes.  It has worked for me everytime.

I have been having this occasionally foot buzzing, but today it has been on going for quite a few hours. I just had an xray done because I had been experiencing a strange pain and numbness in my toes. The PA that I saw suggested that it was maybe related to back pain. Well lo and behold I had been having back pain that I only really noticed when I got into bed and realized that my back was tense. So I would take some advil to relax it so I could go to sleep. She ended up diagnosing me with Degenerative changes consistent with aging process but nothing acute or impingement in spinal canal. She is recommending Physical therapy for Paresthesia of right foot/duration & modalitites. Today I noticed these strange foot buzzing but realize it has been going on for a bit. I am thinking that it definitely has some connection to this on my spine. I had an injury a couple of years ago that was muscular but wondering if it is all connected. What are you thoughts?//

Hello, I'm a newbie at this, but i'm glad i'm not alone.  My vibrating big toe started about a week ago, and i asked my boyfriend if he could feel the vibrating, then finally realizing about 2 nights ago its ONLY in my big toe.  have many stomache problems and have been tested for MS about a year and ahalf ago, and everything has come back negative.  I have had ongoing IBS symptoms for about 8 years, and am a reasonably healthy young 35 year old female.  Chronic pain in back, legs, and fist sized spasms in my abdomen, also with distention in abdomen to the point of people asking me when Im due. (which btw you should never unless the person has made an announcement that they are pregnant LOL).  Anyway, if we could get an actual answer on what this is, would be great...or if its something to be concerned about.
Hope someone knows whats going on....
