Hi,

Was there a previous trauma to the head? Orthostatic hypotension is a form of hypotension in which there is a sudden fall in blood pressure that occurs when a person assumes a standing position, usually after a prolonged period of rest. Symptoms, which generally occur after sudden standing, include dizziness, lightheadedness, headache, blurred or dimmed vision  They are consequences of insufficient blood pressure and blood supply.

The vast majority of headaches are benign and self-limiting. Common causes are tension, migraine, eye strain, dehydration, low blood sugar, hypermastication and sinusitis. A large percentage of headaches among women are caused by ever-fluctuating estrogen during menstrual years. This can occur prior to, or even during midcycle menstruation. Treatment of an uncomplicated headache is usually symptomatic with over-the-counter painkillers. However, if it persists, it would be best to have this evaluated by your doctor. A complete physical and neurologic examination are important to determine the underlying condition.

Take care and regards.
