herniated disk

How can i have a herniated disk if i already had surgery in wich my disk was removed and fused?

Hi.

I believe that what happened is that this is a new level of herniation.  This may be another disk at a different level of the spine that protrudes out of its confines and may compress vital structures such as a spinal cord.

It is rather unlikely that the disk that was removed or operated on could cause this new problem and I think it is a different disk.  It is also possible that what is herniating now is a bone fragment rather than the disk itself.

I suggest you clarify this with your doctor/surgeon and come up with a definitive plan (this may entail another surgery).
