how long will it take to recover after a brain tumor

i had a large mengioma tumor removed december 13 2007. as a result i now have double vision and pain .also suffer from headaces. i really did not suffer from headaces before yhe surgery which lasted 11 hours. i also haven't any energy i feel like i want to sleep all the time. will all theese things improve?

Hello.

Can you please mention were the meningioma was located? The location of the tumor decides much of the prognosis.

Since the surgery can have some effects, the location of the tumor becomes more important. If it was in the frontal lobe, your cognitive abilities may be compromised after the surgery. If the meningioma was in the parietal lobe with parasagittal alignment, there are chances that the deeper structures get pressed.

Apathy, loss of interest, lethargy, etc. are all symptoms of frontal lobe damage.

In my view, you will recover from most of the symptoms in about six months to one year, completely.
