I had a bifrontal crainotomy with total excision of a brain tumor (olfactory groove meningioma) removed 08/18/2010. Problems: Pain when scratching scalp (light touch)  I feel that scalp is stretching (tight). Pain when touching forehead (both sides).  Is this something expected or something to be concerned about?  In November of 2010 doctor told me that my skin was fine.  However this feeling seems to be spreading.

Hello.

Can you please mention were the meningioma was located? The location of the tumor decides much of the prognosis.

Since the surgery can have some effects, the location of the tumor becomes more important. If it was in the frontal lobe, your cognitive abilities may be compromised after the surgery. If the meningioma was in the parietal lobe with parasagittal alignment, there are chances that the deeper structures get pressed.

Apathy, loss of interest, lethargy, etc. are all symptoms of frontal lobe damage.

In my view, you will recover from most of the symptoms in about six months to one year, completely.

Regards
