Hello,
I had an MRI done on my neck after a car accident.
This is what the report says:
Findings:
Straightening of the cervical lordosis is seen.
The cord appears unremarkable .
C2-C3: There is no herniation or stenosis.
C3-C4: There is a prominent protrusion seen at the proximal right foramen. There is no herniation.
C4-C5: There is no herniation or stenosis.
C5-C6: There is a diffuse disc bulge. There is a broad-based herniation from the midline to the proximal left foreman projecting 3.0 to 5.0 mm in AP dimension and 10.0 to 12.0 mm in transverse dimension. There is moderate central canal stenosis. There is narrowing of the proximal left foramen. There is slight extension disc material below the midline measuring 2.0 to 3.0 mm.
C6-C7: There is a disc bug spondylosis changes greater posterolaterally. There is mild foramina narrowing bilaterally.
C7-T1: There is no herniation or stenosis. The posterior elements are unremarkable.
Impression:
1. There is a broad based large herniation seen on the left at the c5-c6 level extending from the midline to the proximal left foramen.
2. There is cord remodeling at the c5-c6 level but without evidence of myelomalacia. Therein central canal stenosis, as described. There is slight extension of disc material below the midline.
3. There is prominent straightening of the mid and upper cervical lordosis consistent with severe muscular spasm.
4. There is foramina narrowing bilaterally at the c6-c7 level.
5. There is a proximal right foramina protrusion at the c3-c4 level.
Please be as specific and simple as possible in your explanation, as I have never done this before.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
