inherited Peripheral neuropathy

My maternal aunt and I have Poly peripheral neuropathy, neither one of us
has diabetes.  It began about age 55(I am now 65)with numbness in my feet.  It is creeping up my legs and seems to weaken my legs making it a
problem to walk.  It has begun to affect my sense of feeling in my hands
and arms.  My aunt is very weak in her muscles and is unable to walk at all.  I contacted a support group, but they are focused on treatment to
cure it.  Can inherited Poly peripheral neuropathy be cured?
