involuntary jerking of legs hands arms and entire body.

I need to know what could be wrong with me? I have involuntary jerking of my body. Sometimes it will just be my legs, arms or hands not all together but at different times, different sides of my body and or just one side of my body and sometimes it will be all of those together. Sometimes its my entire body. It last for just a few seconds at a times stops then happens right away again and can last for at least an hour sometimes longer and sometimes shorter. It can happen anytime awake or asleep. My doctors could not figure this out and it has been going on for at least 2 yrs. Please help me. What could this possible be?
