invoulentary jerks

My body invoulentarily jerks while I'm awake What causes this?

its called myoclonic involuntary movement disorder it can be part of MS and a brain scan would detect done by neuro dr if you have brain stem clusters which may be MS  google myoclonic jerkings to see what level your at

MY SIS HAS MS,   I HAVE THE JERKINGS BUT i chose not to find out since i also have serious spine issues from bad scoliosis surgery

Could be seizure activity or MS but could probably be a number of other things too.  (Not all seizures are grand mals, etc.  Seizure activity can cause a number of different symptoms.)  I would see a neurologist and have these two things ruled out.
