my bf has had a headache for the last 2 days...

details: male 28, previous history of migranes but over 10 years ago. regular anxiety attacks.

thursday, about 8pm he started complaining of difficult seeing out of left eye. and slight headache. by 10pm he had severe headache. by 12 he was vommiting. than went to sleep.

friday, was somewhat ok. went to work. by night time started to complain of a headache again(not as bad) and left eye blurriness.

saturday, headache all through the day. got worse by night. still blurry vision left eye.

overall says hes dying. (he also has very small tolerance for pain and every thing is deadly and severe.  )

okey does anyone have any idea is this a regular migraine? should i take him to ER?

how long do migraines last?

If you have insurance I would suggest going to the dr, er,or a neurologist and get an MRI. To answer your question, yes: this sounds like a migraine, having suffered with them for years. Although, I am not a professional and there is so much I don't know. I do have optical symptoms almost every time I have a migraine. It could be many other things. If he also has anxiety, I would suggest him do some things that may help the situation and trying not to worry. If it is migraine, it sounds like a stressor has instigated his brain.

Usually what helps me is to reduce strenuous activity, get regular sleep and enough. Sometimes I've had to lay down in a dark quiet room after taking either 5, 200 mg. ibuprofen or an excedrin and wait about 45 mins. to an hour to see if it helps.

One more thing that helps a very few people is heat, either a hot washcloth or even a space heater near the head. Although most people don't seem to benefit from the heat, I thought I would mention it because it works for me.

good luck,
Tony

Everyone has a different reaction to every med. I get migraines, and had no response to the swallowed meds. My neuro gave me Maxalt MLT 10mg, this med is taken on  the  tongue and when it dissolves in the mouth it kills the migraine. The warmer weather, and sunlight, and allergies, seem to trigger my migraines. Also, when hub gets cranky. We decided to NOT have arguments ever, and instead, send each other emails; his computer is in our breakfast nook and mine is in my home office. Even if we only had one computer, I would send him emails and  then wait until he logged on and read.
