mri question; GRE TRAUMA AXIAL

On mri test of brain; no results yet. Disc of scans has title GRE TRAUMA AXIAL.
Does anyone know what this is?

I was thinking it could be the protocol for mri, but wondering why the other test did not also  say trauma. Is this possibly indication of trauma? Or simply protocol. This is the order of mri of brain on disc. Thank-you! Diana

Hello.

I guess the trauma part refers to the indication. There are different protocols for the MRI, at different universities. (example - university of Washington protocol for trauma - GRE Trauma Axial,). I am sure you have got the other two terms.
