The first of Septmber I noticed a twitch in the muscle just abovemy right knee. It is present any time I am not moving. After 3 days I also had twitching in my right calf. I saw my primary physician who did not detect any muscular weakness, but seemed surprised at the reflex response in my right knee and mentioned he could refer me to a neurologist if it bothered me but would do nothing for now. After another week of this he did refer me on and I await an appointment in late Oct. So, in the mean time I have trouble not becoming very anxious. The twitching has remained constantly present any time the muscles are at rest, even if I put more weight on my left foot, the right calf and knee areas will twitch. My calf muscle gets tight and sore. It is difficult to sleep. I mentioned to my physician, "it's probably restless leg". He apologetically replied that "you can't SEE restess leg syndrome, it is a sensation." This is very visible. I have found some articles about fasciculations associated with fibromyalgia and chronic fatige syndromes. I have had trouble with trigger points, headaches and muscle tension for years. Any advice for relief?
Thank you.
