Hi,
I was diagnosed with an "incidental left frontal cavernous malformation with acute haemorrhage" two weeks ago. I went to a hospital, they did a CT scan and an MRI and the I was released shortly after the MRI results. I was a bit shocked in the hospital and failed to ask questions which I should have. I've made an appointment to see a neurosurgeon in 6 weeks to take another look and tell me what's up, but in the interim I am worrying.
This is the report from the hospital:
"Non contract CT demonstrated a hyperdense focus in the region of the left sylvian fissure, with concern for acute haemorrhage and findings suggestive of venous sinus thrombosis. Given these findings, he proceeded to a MRI/MRV which revealed a left precentral gyrus T2 hyperintense centre, suggestive of small cavernous malformation that had undergone acute haemorrhage. Neurosurgical review of images recommended no further surveillance imaging nor neurosurgical follow-up necessary."
Am I in trouble?
My main question revolves around medicine mostly. I believe I should avoid any blood thinners, including aspirin and ibuprofen, but is there anything else I should avoid (or take to help)? Should I expect another haemorrhage soon? Am I going to be okay? Is alcohol okay in moderation?
