Hi i am 20 years old, i was driving and i felt this horrible pain in the top left side of my head. It didnt feel like a headache it felt like someone was stabbing my brain. It was sharp and very painful and it lasted for maybe 10 seconds but it felt like forever. I pulled over when it went away and my jaw felt kind of funny, i cant explain it well, it was sort of like a numb feeling. My ear felt like it needed to pop, and it was like my hearing was fading, but i could still hear. It scared me a lot, and It made me shake, and i didnt like it at all. So could someone please help me, any ideas on what it could be?

Hi, Thank you for your question. If there is any stabbing head pressure, possibilities like migrainous, cluster, tension and refractive errors that need to be evaluated thoroughly with the help of a neurologist here. Migraine like headache can be throbbing, one sided of face & head and preceded by aura (starts with blurred vision). Cluster headache may appear as burning, explosive in nature and tear appears from eyes. Tension headache originates with stress and anxiety disorder. Please arrange an appointment with a neurologist right away who will evaluate the further underlying disorders by clinically examine you & ordering MRI or CT scan here that may be the main reasons of your headache attacks & other symptoms and can provide you an appropriate treatment. I would talk to your doctor as soon as possible.  A referral to a neurologist would be good.  Could be a TIA or MS or something similar.  It may be nothing to worry about but it is better to get checked out and rule out more serious things.
