neuro-degenerative disease

I ama 42 year old male.  I have had elevated cpk of 1,200 - 2,000 for about2 years. My Aldolase, ast and ALt have been elevated as well.  Nerve conduction test on extremities was normal but EMG showed muscle damage in all extremeties.  Muscle biopsy shows denervation.  Rhuematologist is recommending me to a Neurologist.  I also have pain and muslce weakness.  Any suggestions on what it might be?

hi mark,
when the muscles degenerate or die off, they break down and release CPK enzyme, which is evident by the elevated CPK levels in your blood.
You definately need to visit and see a neurologist, who will guide you to find the root cause of this problem.
