Are you aware of any deleterious side effects of the muscle-building supplement, nitric oxide?

My son started taking NO ten days ago.  Shortly thereafter he began to experience "events."  I witnessed two Grand Mal Seizures in one day.  ER test results were negative.  He has now been told he is epileptic and will be taking medication the rest of his life.  I truly believe he has been misdiagnosed.  My research indicates a link between excessive NO in the system and seizures.  However, finding a neurologist who is open to the idea has been difficult.  Prior to taking supplements my son was a very healthy 18 year old young man.  Any information you have would be greatly appreciated.

Hello I had a horrible reaction to a nitric oxide supplement which caused a horrible brain condition with caused a variety of symptoms which grew worse with time (scalp numbness, headaches, altered vision, blunted emotions, blunted taste, blunted pain, inability to make my eyes water, limb jerks, muscle spasms memory loss and horrible popping sensations in my head. I have brain scans showing that I have damage to my temporal lobes in particular and other areas. My condition continued to worsened until I eventually developed a state of total insomnia which sleeping pills just aggrevated. I have had several sleep studies showing that even with sleeping pills I do not sleep. And the sleeping pills just cause my other symptoms to regress further. Doctors are suggesting that the condition may be degenerative and have no idea how to treat it.

What nitric oxide supplement was it that your son took? I took one called Pro Nos and contained an ingredient called actinos. I have found several people who have reported adverse affects to this ingredient.

First sleep study 2 awakenins, 2nd 64 and my most recent showed 205

all showed very little overall sleep even with high doses of sleeping pills
