numbness left forearm wrist, index finger, left top of foot and big toe. left hip and lower back pain.

Im a 49 female in good health. In may of this year i started having the left side of my body going numb in different places at different times. sometimes my bottom lip, and the left corner of my  left eye would go numb. or the left side of my neck.  or my ankle and foot  or my hand wrist and index finger.  sometimes it would happen all at once but sometimes it here and there.  I m a beautician, and stand for many hours a day half bent over.  I 've had 3 MRI's one of my brain and the other two of my lumbar and neck regions of my back.Ive seen a neurolgist thtat have test my nerve and muscles in both arms and legs with electricity and have found nothing unususal.  I've also had allkinds of blood work and no one can figure out what is cuseing this.  Im wondering where do i go from here.  It's gotten to the point that i'm in pain more and more and nothing seems to work.  I wake in the night with back pain also.  last week while i was working my right thumb went numb for a short amount of time.  It came back and then all of my fingers went numb.  but after a few minutes went back to normal.  that was the first time it happened on the right side of my body.  Any ideas?

Thank you for your question. Although without being able to examine you I can not offer you the specific advice on diagnosis and treatment that you need, but I would try to provide you some relevant information about your health concern.

Most likely your symptoms could be due to muscle twitching & it appears when the muscle contracts on its own (without nerve stimulation).  Most of the times muscle twitching/numbness occurs without any underlying disorder & they are not harmful or may appear after viral illness. Another possibility could be any chemical exposure to your beautician work that is the cause of this numbness. And it is also essential to know whether there is a minor nerve root compression in back spine or vitamin deficiency that is causing these symptoms. Please arrange an appointment with a neurologist right away who will evaluate the possibilities here. Hope this information proves helpful to you.

Take Care & Regards!!!
