pain after Gamma Knife

by nancy99n, Jun 27, 2009 10:07PM
I had a Gamma Knife April 22nd for Trigeminal Neuralgia.  I've weaned off Trileptal as of June 19th.  No longer on medication.  This past week I started having pain when chewing and random jolts of mild pain.  Tonight I'm having electric shocks in my lower left jaw.  My pain doctor told me it might take 4-6 months to find out if the Gamma Knife worked, but I got off the drugs in 2 months.  I had a brief period of no pain at all.  Should I wait the entire 6 months (August) before I become concerned about the re-occurrance of pain?  Or should I slowly start back on the Trileptal?  The pain is mild (1 on a scale of 1-10).  I don't want to give into this, but I'm worried that something's wrong.  Could a cavity cause electric shock type pain?
