I have been diagnosed by MRI with bulging discs, C5 & C6 and pushing up against the spinal cord. I live in constant pain in my neck, back and right shoulder and have just recently began having sharp pains in my right leg and headaches. My family doctor insists on pain killers and anti-inflammatories. I visited a neurosurgeon who did not want to operate as there was still enough fluid present. I am practically begging my family doctor for surgery but to no avail. I have been sent to a rhumatologist who agreed that surgery would be beneficial. Currently I will be having a nerve test next week to see what damage is present. What type of surgeon is recommended - a neurosurgeon or orthopedic surgeon? In Canada it is not as easy to find someone willing to perform surgeries due to backlogs. Any suggestions??
