I work at a desk for 6-7 hours a day, mostly at a computer. I tend to recline and put my feet up under my desk, so I don't strain my neck (fusion of C5-6-7 12 years ago). I do get up and walk around, though. I wear reading/computer glasses. Oplthalmogist said my eyes were OK. He discounted eye migraine because of the brevity of the event. Stress levels vary. The day of the incident was really quiet and low stress. Most of the time it's not too stressful. When the stress kicks in, I get chest pains or my BP shoots up, and I go for a walk to get out of there. I do get headaches occasionally, but never had that before. I can deal with headaches, they do eventually go away (sometimes may takes days, but they do go away).
Hello.
I agree with ggreg. You must check for a constant eye strain. I would also like to mention that this may be an aborted migraine episode. You need not be having a history of migraine. The history does hint that there may be some Eye problem, but the cause could have been the one odd migraine that was stopped in the aura phase.
How is your work pattern? How is the stress level?
Regards
I don't like the sound of your blood pressure going up so high, even irregularly. The physician who is giving you medication for your heart should run an EKG, check your cholesterol levels, BP again, and so forth. Also, your experience sounds similar to when I was working too hard, 12 hours a day for six days a week, sitting in front of a computer, and I did not realize how tired I had become. Suddenly the room got dark, I almost fell out of my chair, which I suppose I was about to faint, scared me to death. I also had a little vertigo during that time, which I now think was my eyes were tired. Thus, if you are working too hard, or for whatever reason you are not getting enough rest, or you have some eye strain, all those things might also be the cause of that odd episode you had.
I could really use some recommendation as to whether I should be concerned or not about this. Either my medical people don't know much about it, or it really is no big deal, but from what I've read, it probably shouldn't be ignored. The discrepancy is driving me crazy. Any suggestions?
