right side of face burning

for 2 months now the right side of my face, right side of tongue, right side of throat & roof of mouth, inside right ear and right eye & right upper teeth have a burning sensation.(the teeth feel a little numb)on a 1 to 10 about a 3. No stroke. Had MRI's & MRA's. Not shingles. Doc says (neurologist) probably neuralgia (spelling ?) I'm taking gabapentin. After a week of gabapentin its getting more frequent and a little more intense. How long can this last?
Is there any thing else that could be causing this? 2 years ago U had fusion surgery in my neck. C3,4,5. Not from an accident. From severe stenocis. Runs in the family.
Can allergies cause this. Can an insect bite cause this.

hi,most probably, this is neuropathy(trigeminal?).It seems unlikely due to allergy or insect bite as it is localised.

May be change of medicine might help(carbamazepine, venlafaxine etc).

bye and take care!
