seizure & migraine brain condition

I was diagnosed with a condition, which I do not recall the name of.  As a child, I started having seizures at the age of 8.  When I was 19, I also started having migraine headaches.  After many years of seeing neurologists, I was finally told that there is a bundle of blood vessels in the base of my brain causing these.  I was tol that it is a rare condition, brought on by hormones.  This causes either headaches or seixures around puberty, and the other appears on or about the time of childbirth.  I have tried to contact my previous doctor, but cannot locate.  Can you please give me a name for this condition?  I now have daughters of my own, and I want to discuss it with their pediatrician.   Thank you.

Thank you.  does the hemiplegic migraine also cause seizures?  I know it is located at the basal ganglia, and I think it is a blood tumor of sorts.

You could also have an AVM (Arterial-Venous Malformation), though these are more often related to strokes that develop in mid-life.  In any event, your pediatrician should be able to research the condition based on your history. At that point, you can ask how to monitor  your children for signs of the condition should they follow in your footsteps.

And I think that hemiplegic migraines tend to occur around teen years and run higher in woman but I am not sure on that, you would have to look it up.

Maybe familial hemiplegic migraine? Mainly genetic
