sharp head pain

i didnt sleep a minute last night. all of a sudden in the evening, i started getting very sharp, shooting pains just under my left ear on the upper neck. it hurt to swallow as well. it continued throughout the day, same spot. so bad, the pain stops me in my tracks. it lasts for aprx. 4-5 seconds. now, tonight, the pain has changed locations. its AVOVE my left ear and its killing me. my father had a brain tumor removed 5 yrs ago, the procedure left him paralysed so needless to say, im freaking out. anyone know ANYTHING about this? what could it be. im gagging a lot as well.
