still waiting

for the last 18 months my health has been steadily declining. it started with what I thought was a migraine flair up but then I developed heat radiating from the top of my head and a feeling of pressure in my head accompanied by my forhead turning red, no fever. these symptoms came and went with cognitive and speach disrupton over several months. MR a I w/o contrast showed multiple wlesions recommended f/u w/ contrast and neuro consult. for some reason neuro ordered mri of neck instead of brain w/contrast and then months later as new symptoms of lower extremety weakness occurred he ordered lp w/ intention to r/o MS but then forgot to add MS profile to order. day after LP I was unable stand straight, bend completely, or lift arms. also loss og bladder control...all temporary. transported to ER. MRI of spine, given steroids and muscle relaxers. ok after 48 hrs/no explanation/no spinal leak detected. family doctor ordered repeat MRI brain w/wo contrast two weeks ago due to worsening symtoms. LE muscles continually rigid, hips & ankles lock up due to this, now arm muscles are becoming rigid with wrists releasing against will. face feels like it is drooping randomly. feet get pins and needle feeling on and off. labs have been normal w/ exception of B12 deficiency (under treatment w/ monthly injection, hypothyroidism~levels normal x 2yrs treated w/levoxyl) only other abnormal has been elevated c reactive protein which has remained minimally elevated for 2 yrs. and multiple white matter lesions on brain mri. past mri (2005) had no lesions. h/o migrains x18yrs, controlled hypothyroidism, b12 anemia, mrsa infection 2008, gallbladder removal 1992, h/o ovarian cysts. 46yrs old. doctors have placed me on triptans I am allergic. they tried prednisone 7 times in the last 18 months. antihystamines verapamil topamax sphenocath to name a few as well as antiinflammatory medication. I have refused pain medications and would like to continue to do so. I would just like some answers as to what is attacking my body and how to stop it. I am a single parent. my children lost their father in 2010 to pancreatic cancwr. I do not want what ever this is to kill me before I even have a chance to try to stop it. please, if anyone has any ideas or suggestions they would be greatly appreciated.

thank you both. No depression or anxiety issues, other than what are now being causwd by the ongoing health issues being undiagnosed/unresolved. Not in menopause, so sure that isn't it. But thank you for the support.  Saw a new neuro this week. He is thinkinga a possible auto immune cause.  ordered another blood test so more wait and see. sigh.

I am so sorry for you. I have no idea either, but wanted you to know that we are here for you.
Were you depressed or have anxiety before this started? Sometimes we get the strangest symptoms when going through either one of those.

The first set of symptoms sound like the ones I have with perimenopause.
"what I thought was a migraine flair up but then I developed heat radiating from the top of my head and a feeling of pressure in my head accompanied by my forhead turning red, no fever. these symptoms came and went with cognitive and speach disrupton "
I started getting the 3 when I was 28...the speech problems when I was 45.

You second set of symptoms, sound like the affects of prednisone.
My mom and hubby both complain of odd symptoms when on it. Mom constantly says it feels like a broom stick has been shoved up her spine etc.
Other than that? I'm at a loss.
So sorry, wish I could do more...give you some hope and encouragement.
