syrinx after T.Myelitis, what does it mean?

syrinx after T.Myelitis, what does it mean?

I'm a 28 y/o mother of one; paramedic and PA student.  In 09 I suffered from Transverse myelitis at T11 secondary to the H1N1 vaccine... I recovered 90% of my neuro deficits, was left with some residual burning on my lower legs and bit of numbness in my feet.  Went back to life, work, school etc.  Then my symptoms started to get a bit worse, headaches everyday, back pain I'd never had before.  I had an MRI 3 months ago and heard nothing, was given a follow up appt 3 months from now.  I figured all was fine and took up chiropractic care for the back pain and started wondering what was going on.  I found out from another specialist that MRI in March showed a newly-formed syrinx from T11 to T4 (diameter unknown, other details unknown as that's all she told me) and said I need to see a neurologist.  In light of my symptoms and worsening of old deficits, I've been trying to get my neuro to see me sooner or call me to interpret the MRI.  It's been almost a week of daily calls with NO response.  Should I be concerned?

Are there any activities I should limit myself from in the meantime so as to prevent exacerbation or worsening of the syrinx?

Should I have been informed about the MRI findings by neuro (ie is it a benign finding or did someone drop the ball)... I know very little of syrinx formations and what that means for me clinically in terms of prognosis, treatments, etc.

Any guidance would be soooo very much appreciated to put my anxieties at ease while I await the return of my calls.
