tarsal tunnel surgery

Hi, I was wondering if anyone has had tarsal tunnel surgey and could give me some information on it.  My mother is having it done this week.  Thanks.

Hi Anne...I had it on my right ankle in Nov of 2000.....I recently found out, that I have another condition and it wasn't tarsel tunnel after all.....I also had some problems with myankle that was found during my PT.....so I did not have a good experience and it did not help the original problem bcuz I was misdx.

I would ask if she had an EMG done....I did not prior to my surgery...a diff type of testing was done and it gave the wrong indications....when I had the EMG it showed that was not the issue.....so if nething make sure she had the EMG....


I pray all goes well and she has a speedy recovery.I am sorry I did not have a positive reply...but I am sure she will do fine.

Thank you so much for your reply.  She did have an EMG done put she had so much fluid in her ankles I don't think they got enough info.  Her dr. seems very confident that this is her problem.  She's 75 and active but the last 6 months she has had horrible pain shooting from the ankle area up her leg.  The dr. said she will be able to babysit my son in 2 days.  Is the recovery that quick?  He said she'll walk out after surgery.
