"A degenerative process that erodes away the myelin sheath that normally protects nerve fibers. Demyelination exposes these fibers and appears to cause problems in nerve impulse conduction that may affect many physical systems. Demyelinization is seen in a number of diseases, particularly multiple sclerosis."

Treatment would vary depending on the disorder you have and in some cases, there would be no treatment.

With demyelinating disease spasticity, muscle weakness, paralysis, hyper-reflexia and movement disorder may be the main clinical features associated that need to be evaluated thoroughly. However, it is sad to say that there is no permanent cure but conservative treatment & physiotherapy exercises that would help you to regain your normal function and stopping the further progression of the disease. Please consult a neurologist in this regards. Hope this helps.
