tremors in parkinson

my mother is wth parkinsons for 2yrs. she is 65. she is taking the standard drugs----syndopa+(half tab 3times a day)  and pramipex 0.125(1tab twice a day).  But the tremors in her right arm and leg do not go away.Why is that so?Can not the tremors go away?Should she go for another drug?

Hi there.  Parkinsonian tremor drug treatment involves L- DOPA and dopamine drugs like ropinirole, pergolide and bromocriptine. These may cause side effects like tardive dyskinesia, akathisia and clonus. Others are amanatadine and anticholinergics. Zonisamide, an anticonvulsant has also shown promising results in tremors related to parkinsonian tremor. Hope this helps. Take care.
