Headache for 35 days

I have had a headache for now 31 days in a row without any real relief.  It started out (I think) with a stiff neck- Couldn't touch chin to chest) and the same day I started with a headache.  They almost follow a pattern everyday, I wake up with it, it gets better after I'm up for awhile and almost gone into afternoon, but around 4 pm comes back and keeps going for the rest of the night (almost worse when I lay down).  I wake up in the middle of the night with it (which I never have done before). Headaches are common for me, but usually hormonal so I know when they are coming and I know when they will be gone for the most part.  This headache is different - most of mine are located at the front or sides of my head and this one is in the back to the top of my head.  I have taken muscle relaxers, migraine meds, prednisone (6 days) and more and more Skelaxin.  I started seeing a neurologist two weeks ago and he put me on the prednisone and skelaxin he also did a MRI (w/o contrast) that came back negative.  Over the past 7-8 days I have lost almost all taste and my mouth is super dry (wierd to explain), I have a tingling feeling in my bottom lip and there feels like pressure (almost like someone is squeezing) my arms off and on-- could have nothing to do with any of this.  My question after is.. any idea what I can do next for the headache and what the heck is causing the loss of taste.  I was wondering if one of the meds I was on could cause it?  I have been off Prednisone for 7 days. The Dr put me on Zanaflex nightly and I take at bedtime (for the past 3 nights) which has not helped.  Any help or thoughts is greatly appreciated.
Also, I'm 36 years old and in pretty good health, also have Hashimoto disease.

Thank you,

Deana

it is not crazy dear, we cannot loose hope, possibilities are many, but if your ovaries were not touched by the surgeon no need to think about hormonal changes. Also now i have more info about you, thank you, because what you are deiscribing could be named cervical syndrome, starting in the neck muscles.. Did you tried any medication muscle relaxant-anxiolytic type? (a swiss made meds Deanxit is a good combinated drug for this need) also a type of physiotherapy compressive type is practiced on this trigger point for 1 hour daily and is capable of removing this cervical syndrome tension type headache.

I suffered with headaches that lasted weeks at a time for 4 years. They always started at the base of my neck. I would get my husband to literally take his finger and dig as far as he could. I saw Dr after Dr and took everything imaginable trying to get some relief. O know this may sound crazy but I had a hysterectomy little over a year ago and have not had a migraine since.

do a lumbar puncture, this may be a viral meningitis, in this case a loss of taste is also present
