I need help, is this possible to be addicted to this?

by BumbleBeeK, Oct 08, 2008 11:55PM
Im Jackie and im only 22 and i have migranes. I get them all the time and i have seen neurologists and he knows my situation about migranes. I was put on topamax which REALLY REALLY helped but because of not having insurance i had to stop taking that.. I take Fioricet for my migranes and im really scared im addicted to them. and i know it has tylenol in it so i get worried about my liver. I got 90 pills and they were gone within probably 2 weeks.. im ashamed and scared. im afraid to tell my boyfriend, i told my mom but still.. i had heard that too much can cause rebound migranes.. but i only feel the "need" and "wanting" fioricet. And i have ocd so that doesnt help. Does anyone have any advice or knowledge about this. i just found this site and i like that its not about pointing fingers, but helping people out.. please anyone!

As far as the tylenol, look up the daily dose allowed on your computer, I think it's somewhere around 3,000 grams.  When we have OCD or pain, we naturally want to do what makes us feel better but in the long run it hurts us and we are miserable.  I feel you should go over to the social addiction community to get more insight, anytime we take more of something and it causes us trouble, we need to do something different and the only way that I know for you to get the addiction under control, and it is an addiction when you take that many, is to taper off and find something non-narcotic to replace it before it is too late...
