This is so disgusting

The most unimaginable thing happened to me.  I was shopping for exercise pants, saw a pair I liked, and bought them.  The next morning I tried them on, they fit, so I just kept them on all day.  As I was trying them on, I slightly noticed a white triangle in the crotch area....sort of what I call a breathing area while exercising.  I didn't examine it, I just noticed it was there in passing.
As I was going to the restroom last night, I noticed a spot on the white area.  It was someone's blood.  I am so mortified and feel so disgustingly nasty now.  I had on underwear so I at least had a barrier.  I threw the pants and my undies in the trash can and took a good shower.
I just pray that I am not at risk for contamination.  I have a fear of contamination and of contaminating others, and this episode is just awful.  I have had issues with hiv fear, rabies fear, staph fear, and on and on.  I don't know why things like this seem to continue to follow me.  I know it soumds so bizarre, but this really happened.  I would like to take them back to the store and sue them, but I know there is no way that I can prove that I was the only one who wore them after purchasing them.

I contacted the store and am waiting to hear back from them.  It seems that yesterday corporate offices were closed due to the New Year.  I am slowly beginning to rationalize the situation....but it still makes my skin crawl.  Thank you for posting a comment....this has not been easy to deal with. ~~~

It would make sense to inform the store about what happened and see if they can resolve the issue. Although I don't have obsessive compulsive disorder as part of my psychiatric disability I do have obsessive thoughts and fears of contamination like you described. What I tend to do is to think back which ones do make some sense and take pragmatic measures about keeping things hygienic without overdoing it. If I have concerns about this I discuss it with my psychiatrist.
I had a similar experience when I bringing the laundry back (which the laudromat is paid to wash) and I noticed someone else's clothes that were soiled in the same manner as you described in with my wash. If it happened again I'd speak to them. Its normal to react to this. Its just how much a person reacts to it and what they do to address it.
