Thanks for the suggestion. I have the same problem. I can't start something readily...Once I start it, I have to keep working on it. If i get interrupted then that's it... I have a hard time finishing things as well.
I also suffer from the same disorder Michael. From the information that I have read to date, it could possibly be Adult ADD. That is a form of Attention Deficit Disorder that is commonly a problem with hyperactive children. There are some ADD books that say that many adults have a form of it. I have great difficulty staying focused on one task at a time. We think differently than other people who are "linear". ADD people are highly creative and actually many are even genius level like Albert Einstein. The key is to work from a To Do List but only put one item on the list at a time. What has helped me is to use a timer and work for 15 minutes on that 1 item that you decide is the most important and then rest for 5 minutes. It has also helped when I call a buddy and commit to doing a task and then call back when I have completed it. I'm no expert but I hope this helps you a little bit. Take care of yourself. You are not alone. My favorite expression is "A shared sorrow is half a sorrow; a shared joy is twice a joy! Good Luck!
Im sorry to say that i dont know how to help. But i can honestly say i know where your coming from. i also suffer from OCD and its hard and miserable. i suggest going to the doctor though, i would if i could afford it.
