Cold Sensation

I am just out from hospital after a pushbike accident. In for 10 days, I suffered a crush (comminuted?) fracture to the left medial epicondyle, some flesh damage, bruising to the ulnar nerve and 3 broken ribs. I had four bouts of surgery including a final split skin graft from my left thigh to cover the 2.5 inch diameter elbow wound.

The question is slightly odd and one I forgot to ask my surgeon: why is it that now when I drink a glass of cold water, my elbow gets a cold sensation?

I have never heard that one before.  I suggest you ask your surgeons, and let me know if they have an answer
