horrible back pain with pain shooting down my leg.

I have had back trouble for a few years now, but over the past few months, The pain has become excriciating down my right leg. I dont have insurance so I just dealt with the pain. Now, I cant deal with it anymore. I went to a chiropractor and they did xrays, my lumbar curves out now instead of in, my disk space inmy lower backare so thin, the nerves coming out may be damaged. the muscles on the right side of my back are so strong, he cannot really adjust me. my work put me on a leave of absence because I cannot perform my job anymore. I cant walk for long periods of time without stopping and sitting. I am basically confined to a bed. this is terrible for me because I am a very active person, now I cant do anything, and im only 28. has anyone ever dealt with anything like this? If so, what heped you get back on your feet?

This sounds like you are describing a disc herniation and sciatica.  Bed rest will be deconditioning, and counter-productive.  Rather than the chiropractor who couldn't help you, I suggest a visit to an orthopedic spine specialist. You may need PT, injections, or even surgery.
