ouch these feet

ouch these feet

Hello and thank you for allowing me to post.

I am a 69 year oldd female, who quit smoking 10 months ago. I have gained 20 pounds and am trying to walk a mile a day  and watching my diet to some degree. I have been getting heel pain once in awhile for years.  I bought a very good pair of walking sneakers and use the heel inserts.

My heels start hurtng after walking but the worse pain is when I first get out of bed in the a. m. I barely can walk but after I am walking a bit the heels are good until I do my mile than they start hurting. After doing some internet searching I am thinking i could have plantar facititis but hope not as I want to continue with my walking.
.
I do have fibromyalgia and maybe this is the cause.the exercise is also good for fm.

Thank You, Linda

This is probably plantar fasciitis. An irritation of the fibrous tissues in the sole of the foot. Start with achilles stretching and ice.  See my comment several members earlier regarding Dansko Clogs, which can be found online.
