PROBLEMS AFTER MORTONS NEUROMA EXCISION

Hi
I had bilateral excision of mortons neuromas from both feet last October between 3rd and 4th toes
My surgeon said that by 6 months my feet should feel 'good'.
However i still have a certain amount of discomfort in both feet - they still feel like they swell easily if i slightly over do things (although they appear to look ok), still feel sore a lot of the time and i still cant tolerate anything on my  feet except wide fit trainers. I often still feel like i have that bunched up knotted feeling in both feet
I do have 'better' days but i would say that both feet still fee worse than before the operation.
Is this lengthy recovery time normal? Does this sound like i may have a stump neuroma or is it too early for that?
Any help and advice appreciated
Many Thanks

Hi
Thanks for the above advice - i have since been back to my doc and had another ultrasound scan and cortisone injection in my left foot. He did however confirm that there was no regrowth just some soft tissue and fluid which has also been drained off. That was a month ago now but i still feel like i am having aggravation in the this foot.
In additon - the fourth toe on this foot - the one just above the neuroma excision has also been giving me jip these last few weeks - it felt like i had stubbed it so i cut the toe nail down and now it is constantly sore! Its not too bad if i wear open toe shoes but if i wear trainers - my failsafes really while my feet have been recovering from the op - it really hurts.
Does this sound like an ingrown toe nail to you? There doesnt appear to be any infection and it doesnt hurt that much to touch just when i walk it is very painful - even with a plaster on - this toe bends round quite badly behind the middle toe so is out of normal alignment when i walk - with all the other nerves surrounding the area where i had the op being so near by do you think this could be what is aggravating the area further down?
Am going back to my doc this week but its doing my head in now - i just seem to deal with one problem down there and then i get another. The toenail that i cut doesnt seem to have grown much again in the last few weeks so i am concerned it may be ingrown but i would have thought it would have got infected??

Really appreciate any help or advice you might have on how to deal with this
Many Thanks

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Sounds like yo may be having a problem. Certainly I would like to hear you are doing better after 6 months. What is particularly upsetting is the return of the "bunched up" feeling. It sounds like the neuroma may not have been completely resected. I would certainly certainly see an orthopedic foot specialist for an evaluation.
