Thank you DR. Vinod. I have had this for five days and was worrying if it could be soming else. My DR. Did have me to come in today and have an X-RAY but it normal so i guess it's just gout. Again Thank you.
Hello!
Gout results in increase of blood uric acid levels and the affected joint if in acute phase is hot, red and swollen. The most common joint involved is at the base of the big toe, but almost any joint can be involved.
You can take NSAIDs like naproxen (aleve) or any other suitable NSAIDs if required like indomethacin, celecoxib etc.
Methylpred is methyl prednisolone and you take this and avoid using NSAIDs continuously. You can take NSAIDs intermittently.
Your doctor feels this is a safer approach than using NSAIDs that is the reason he has prescribed methylpred.
Take care!
