Hi there!
Well, without an evaluation it would be difficult to determine the cause of your symptoms. Possibilities may include fractures, dislocation/ subluxation, injuries to the tendon/ ligament/ nerve, infections, inflammations etc. It would be best to get this evaluated by a primary care physician or an orthopedician for an accurate diagnosis and appropriate management.
Hope this helps.
Take care!
I wish all these blogs could attach pictures. I have the same problem. I know this happened a long time ago, but since this was the best description of what I am experiencing I figure you may be able to let me know the prognosis. my index finger was impacted towards my pinky. After initial swelling of my whole finger and tendon pain, I remain with a swollen knuckle and below the knuckle but the top of my finger is normal. I cannot bend it as far as my other fingers and it is painful to go past 90 degrees with it. Will it heal on its own, or is there a way to prevent permanent limitations of it?
