CTEV Club Foot

Dear All

My baby is just five months of age and she is already undergone the serial plaster method
this did not give a very good result, it has been done for seven to eight times. Now the shoe has been
adopted but it is becoming very difficult to console her when she is wearing the shoe. She starts
crying though out the term. we are making her to wear the shoe for 8 hours per day. is it ok ?
We can not think of she wearing it for round the clock. it is a severe inward bilateral CTEV.

Is there any other method of treatment which gives good result except Surgery.
Thanks and Regards

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello!

There are two different kinds of shoes available in Delhi.

One is a leather surgical shoe with modifications to maintain correction in club foot achieved either by conservative or by operative means. (Repeated plastering and surgery)

The other variety is a molded polypropylene shoe.

These are available all over Delhi through trained orthotists and prosthotists attending the orthopedic clinics of most hospitals.

Your orthopedician will help you.

Take care!
