Complications from recent hip replacement

Have congenital spondylosis from L4 - S1.
L3 laminectomy with fusion age 19
Rt hip total replacement age 40
Rt hip revision surgery age 49
Diagnosed with scoliosis age 49
Suggested I have additional fusion now from L1-S1
Left hip replacement 12/2012

Now having pain in left hip as if the socket is not stable.  The socket was not secured with a screw or cement.
Considering the history of my back condition, is it possible that this socket is indeed moving, as i have burning pain in the exact area at the top of the hip socket. Thank you

I would like to find some scholarly articles to bring to my appointment with my doctor, something like, "best surgical practices for hip replacement for patients with diagnosed scoliosis, or spondylitis, or hip dysplasis".  Could you refer me to a few sites where I could print off some data regarding this.  Thank you so much

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi!
I am sorry to hear about your medical problems. Yes, if the weight bearing is not right, then pressure transmission along hip, knee, ankle joint is wrong and can displace a prosthesis. So, yes, a spine problem can affect he positioning of hip prosthesis. Please discuss with your doctor. Take care!

The medical advice given should not be considered a substitute for medical care provided by a doctor who can examine you. The advice may not be completely correct for you as the doctor cannot examine you and does not know your complete medical history. Hence this reply to your post should only be considered as a guiding line and you must consult your doctor at the earliest for your medical problem.
