Looking for ideas for unexplained muscle pain in back.

For about 4.5 years now I have been having an issue in the muscle on the left side of my back, in the middle (thoracic is the term I think?) right about where it starts to curve around to my side.  It is in a very specific area, so it isn't a generalized pain.  The problem is that after I bend over, or squat, or sometimes even just from moving around a lot, I get a sharp pain that kinda takes my breath away.  The pain feels kind of in between a cramp and having something poking in to me, mixed with a kind of aching feeling.  The pain lasts anywhere from 30 seconds to 5 minutes or more.  Usually when it starts happening it will happen for the rest of the day as well.  The pain doesn't seem to originate from my spine, but somewhere deep down in/under the muscle.

I have been to two different orthopedic doctors (albeit from the same office), and a neurologist, had two MRIs done (with and without contrast) and x-rays, and no one seems to be able to find anything...though I feel like they are looking for for the wrong thing or in the wrong place.  I have tried numerous medications, including pain medications, physical therapy, other exercises, trigger point injections, and epidural injection, and nothing has made a difference.  I have plenty of other pain issues in my body, but this one is probably the hardest to ignore.

This issue seems to be getting worse and is really affecting my ability to work or exercise to my full ability.  If anyone has any ideas I would greatly appreciate it!
