Heel pain

Hello
I am 27 years old and for the last two month , i have been having pain in my heel if i stand for a while. Then i thought it might be the shoe so i bought a new shoe. But it did not help for i still have the pain for i stand for bit, which it does not work for me i mean ,i am trade person which mean i am in my feet at least 8 hours a day.But a friend told me to see a pedorthist  to make me a custom made sole. so still waiting for them and will see how it works. But i would really like to know if there is other method to cure the pain. I tried the arch support but it did not work and most of pain is only when i am standing only, while walking do not feel comfortable but other times i am fine. Looking forward to hear some help full comments .

Thanks

Do you have wear a certain shoe on the job or can you wear a tennis shoe there is a shoe company that has made some great shoes they have both running and walking: spira
http://www.spira.com/

Also can you find a good chiropractor to treat your feet as that might help.

I hope this helps,

The heel pain could mean you have heel spurs or you could have a condition as I do that you have worn away the fat pads that protect the heel bone from taking the pressure when standing for long periods or when walking. I know my heels feel bruised a lot of times if I have to stand for very long or have to walk very much. You will benefit greatly from seeing an orthopedic that specializes in feet as they will be able to x-ray the area and tell a lot from looking at the x-ray as to whether it is heel spurs, lack of fat pads, stress fractures to the heel bone or something else. hope this helps and good luck!
