But if I had ligament damage or anything wrong would I be able to walk without a limp and how long should I wait to go in? A few weeks?
Hello!
To know knee ligament tears/sprains an orthopedician will do some clinical tests to know about your ligament injuries. These are Lachman's test, anterior and posterior drawer tests, Mc Murray's tests etc.
If you go for an MRI you will be able to confirm tears. There are 3 pairs of important ligaments in your knee joint viz. the cruciates, the collaterals and the menisci.

Would i know if i had ligament damage in my knee from not being able to walk or run or how would i know? Also since I am worring about this i have been paying more attention to this knee and i have noticed if i am waliking then change directions my knee will click. not sure if this has always been there or is normal or could because of fluid build up. i am 25 and am in pretty good shape. just trying to figure this out.
Hello!
As you had a blow or strike your muscle and knee will be inflamed and if the strike was strong enough you can also have ligament injuries in your knee joint.
The most important thing for you to do is to rest and avoid any physical exertion for few days and if the pain continues you have to see an orthopedician and consider some scans of your knee joint for a proper diagnosis.
Take care!
