Just had surgery with Dr. Byrd

Hello Everyone,
I am 2 weeks out from arthroscopic hip surgery with Dr. Byrd.  Even though my MRI's (even with contract) showed nothing but a large cyst and several specialist in Atlanta told me my hip was fine, it was a disaster once he got in there.  He corrected a labral tear, removed bone spurs, corrected a cam and pincer impingement (including microfracture).  Everyday I have more pain than the previous day, I'm afraid I've done something to jeopardize the microfracture.

Has anyone had hip microfracture and had a good result?  How long did the recovery really take?

I appreciate anyone's feeback.
Thank you,
Karen

Hi Karen,
I'm 18 and I had arthroscopic surgery to repair a labral tear mid may of this year. While operating, my surgeon discovered that he needed to shave down the femur bone (not sure of the correct medical term). I am just now beginning to notice some obvious improvement in my previous activities (besides the obvious of getting to walk again, endurance, etc.). To be honest, the recovery was really rough. It seemed like things were getting worse rather than better, which was very discouraging. It took a lot of time and effort, but I'm feeling much better and more confident in my everyday actions. So just have some patience and try to muster up an optimistic attitude! Youll be better soon enough :)
