Knee Instability

Three weeks post-op of lateral and medial meniscus partial menisectomies as well as total PCL revision surgery. due to graft failure.  Very complex and long procedure (8 plus hours).   All completed open surgery.  Recently, given authorization to put full-weight on leg. Also able to flex @ 30 degree but no more than 45 degree.
Had full leg brace locked at 45 degrees. Visiting briefly w/family,  made slight turn while using crutches and entire knee gave way towards inner part of leg  to where I even temporarily put my back out of wack. Continued problems feel as though feel pulled stitches; continues to give way upon apply full-weight. In lots of pain; no swelling (usually never exhibit) however, bearable. Any suggestions?

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi there!

It would normally take some time for the surgery to heal and inflammation to subside after a relief is notices. Initial relief may take a few weeks while complete recovery may take a few months. It would be best to discuss the expected prognosis in detail with your treating orthopedician. Meanwhile physiotherapy may be helpful for improving muscle strength and mobility.
Hope this helps.

Take care!
