Actually I would love to see a MRI of your knee, but without it - I will give you two possibilities. First, a meniscal tear and second, a ACL injury. Both can be detected with a MRI (although your doctor will probably get regular x-rays first - protocol). Hope this helps, besides rest keep it iced also. Best of luck, jd1963!
Thx. For personal reasons I prefer to avoid doctors as much as possible at the moment... So no MRI.
I began to walk again after some days, today I walked a lot and there's some general milder pain and feels like it needs lubricant...
i actually think that there was an effusion when it happened and it reduced some days after. When supposedly the effusion regressed I felt more sensitivity again in the area. Would that be compatible with the conditions u mentioned?
Of the two injuries, an effusion sensation would be more likely with a meniscal tear. How ever we may never know without that MRI!!!!
That one knee might have been stressed in the past because I had a mild paralisis on the foot/tibial for a while and I walked on it. It's OK now but all these issues were regularly dismissed by the docs including my current doc. I am unemployed again and although I get totally free healthcare I try to avoid having to go to visits and wait till I have enough money again.
One other detail: the first few days from the injury it was impossible to walk UP on a pendance, I was forced to limp, while I could walk Down on the same pendance like nothing had happened!
I hope the knee is feeling better today, if you are in Italy, I'm not sure of the time (2:00pm here). Since I am new to this site, I am not totally accustomed to all the rules yet. I was requested not to ask for x-rays, MRI's, lab work, etc.. I can understand where legal issues could arise. We will still try to figure this out anyway.
Have a great day! jd1963
Well as long as you are recommending a test that still reequires someone to go to the doctor it should be OK. It's 9pm here and I am walking around on the knee, it feels a bit stingy sometimes but it's OK. One day if the situation will allow I could do an MRI just to be sure. I already have some bonr growth in the right ankle because the doctors got it wrong they didnt spot the fracture and didnt consider much that I said I heard a crack. It was 12 years ago. They spotted the fracture months after when it was already too late. I hate to generalise but I really cant stand doctors atm.
I'll check that out, thanks a lot!
